The Extraction Process

Dr. Baldwin will first use a local anesthetic to numb the area that is to be treated, which will include the tooth, jawbone, and gums. The procedure should be painless, but pressure will be felt because the socket needs to be widened in order to safely remove the tooth.

Sectioning a Tooth

Sometimes, a tooth may need to be sectioned because it is firmly anchored to the socket or the root is curved and cannot be removed. If this needs to be done, Dr. Baldwin will cut the tooth into sections and remove them separately.
